Reporting to the CEO, contributed to organizational development, management, and strategic planning for industry cluster related activity at BOB. Facilitated and organized five industry clusters: Construction, Tourism & Hospitality, Creative Industries, Information & Communication Technology and the Green Inner-city Cluster. Provided business development services to inner-city connected businesses and entrepreneurs focussing on: business planning, market research, relocation, expansion, information technology, commercial leasing and zoning issues.

  • Helped plan and launch the following social enterprises: W2 Café, SOLEfood Urban Farm, and coworking@BOB. Duties included writing business plans, pro forma accounting, sales projections, market & industry research, and authoring grant proposals.
  • Helped coordinate, develop, and launch Cluster initiatives such as: Dragon Rickshaw Adventures and the W2 Bladerunners Media Arts Apprenticeship Program.
  • Acted as project manager for http://buildingopportunities.org website redevelopment, the project consisted of a custom content management system, inner-city online job board, inner-city business directory, and other digital publishing features. Phase one budget was $35,000 with subsequent phases costing in excess of $10,000. Development team size was 6-8 with stakeholders numbering in the dozens. Responsible for project timeline, project scope, vendor selection, and copy writing.
  • Managed BOB's online image through social networks, blogs, and media inquiries.
  • Leveraged social media to achieve front page coverage of cluster projects in the Vancouver Sun and Metro as well as numerous other mentions in print, radio, TV, and online media.
  • Contributed to event planning, organization, and promotion of: Sustainability 2.0 and Gaining Ground Resilient Cities Vancouver 2009 conferences.
