I went here to go to the once a year foreign book sale which luckily coincided with my trip to Tokyo to take the GMAT. I had gotten a good score the day before so I was in the mood to spend money. This place is huge, so huge it has room to set up a temporary bookstore on the 14th floor or something. I bought a pile of books, the prices for Japan were cheap. You could pick up a soft cover novel for 400 or 700 yen. I ended up buying seven books or something. I spent a pile of money on books while in Japan. Next time I live abroad I'll have to give serious consideration to the cost of English language reading material.
If you like looking at pictures of Japan, the best of mine are on Flickr. After over twenty years I finally returned to Tokyo. I did not go to Takashimaya Times Square but I did go to one big Japanese department store in Shinjuku. Since my hotel was on the West side of the station I shopped at Keio, Japanese department stores are so big. And Shinjuku might be the biggest station in Tokyo and is one of the biggest shopping districts.
