Old Ork Dread

This is the second dreadnought I added to my ork army. The original one I painted in Goff colors, ie black and red just like the nob. This dreadnought is a Deathskull. I painted all the panels on the model a different color. There aren't many highlights. I didn't have very good technique but I always painted relatively cleanly. I tried to incorporate the colors/schemes of my friend's armies of course not all my friends were too enthusiastic about painting. In the olden days the dreads were driven by Gretchen not Orks.

I named the model after one of Green Peace's boats.

Dreadnoughts have gotten bigger over the years. Now there are Forgeworld super dreadnoughts and actual Titans in 40K. I put too much effort into my models and when I paint bigger models they really take effort to complete. I need to improve on that as I would like to add more walkers and vehicles to my armies. There has been a notable arms escalation while I've not been playing 40K. Two dreadnoughts used to be pretty good now people field two Titans in a 1500 point game.
