MBA Internship

I finally got an MBA Internship. It can be very difficult to secure an MBA Internship and especially was for me. Apparently I went about it all wrong but I didn't know it at the time. Perhaps I spent too much time trying to help out my fellow MBA classmates and not enough time looking out for number one. Apparently that is one of my problems.

I ultimately ended up working for Noratek Solutions in Prince George. How I got the job is a rather complicated tale that fits somehow into the sordid affair that is my life over the last few months.

I've only been at Noratek a few days so I don't have much to say. The way people are getting fired over writing their blogs I'll probably never say much about Noratek. Although I can be critical, most think I'm a nice guy. I've bitten my tongue before and likely will have to do so again, though some people deserve the criticism they receive and more.

Having gone through internship posting season at Sauder, I can state that the majority of employers want either a student specializing in finance or one specializing in marketing. I don't think a single job posting wanted a student specializing in Entrepreneurship which is my specialization. This tidbit which isn't necessarily the party line may affect some future students choice of specialization. Most of the marketing positions involve market research so I also advise you to add that to your skill set and to your resume.
